What We Do
Cultivating Change One Pair at a Time
Kicks4Keeps is a youth-led certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the business of changing and shaping the lives of the youth. The work we do at our is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving one of our society’s biggest challenges: the challenge and issue of child poverty. Based in Carmichael, California Kicks4Keeps focuses on distributing shoes to children globally and locally who aren't as fortunate as we are, as well as advocating for low-income youth. We collect lightly used donated pairs of shoes to go towards protecting the kids in need. Kicks4Keeps also voices ideas in the interest of helping impoverished teens and keeping teens informed. We stand by the principle of youth helping youth. It is our belief that we can change the world one pair of shoes at a time.

Who This Impacts
An estimated 300 million children around the world don't have shoes and are prone to suffer from soil-transmitted diseases and parasites. Now according to the U.S. Department of the Interior, Americans throw away at least 300 million pairs of shoes each year. These shoes end up in landfills, where they can take 30 to 40 years to decompose. Why not repurpose these shoes for the better and add to other's lives.
Why This Matters
Like clothing, shoes are a basic amenity and necessity that must be available to all. Since such a large number of children are devoid of the right to protect their bodies, we speak with conviction when we say it is the duty of the fortunate to lend a hand. Providing someone with a little love and the right resources can give them access to their full potential and make the world a better place. It is important to give back because something so basic can lead to such a large and bright outcome!
